Austria has something special to offer in every season

...and is always worth a visit!

For winter sports enthusiasts, the Alpine republic is a favourite destination. No wonder, given that Alpine peaks over 3,000 metres high and wide valleys beckon for skiing and tobogganing. Even in the height of summer, hikers are treated to astonishing beauty. Then there are paths through magnificent landscapes and cycle routes winding through meadows and forests. Autumn and spring are, of course, also excellent times to visit Austria...

Here are some useful tips for your short break in Austria...

Enchantingly romantic cities

At kurzurlaubspezialist.com, Austria’s cities are particularly highlighted as worthwhile destinations for a short getaway to the Alpine country. Linz on the Danube, for example, impresses with its pilgrimage church. Hikers can spot the imposing walls on the Pöstlingberg from quite a distance. The city’s cafés offer sweet treats such as Linzer Torte and other delicacies. The Mozartkugeln available in Salzburg are also delicious. In the city near the German border stands the birthplace of the gifted composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Today, visitors stroll through Getreidegasse, where the child prodigy first saw the light of day in the house at number 9. Graz, Klagenfurt and the capital Vienna are further cities where short-break holidaymakers can enjoy romantic weekends. Speaking of romantic weekends...

If you decide to travel between Linz and Salzburg, you should definitely plan to spend some relaxing and romantic days with us in the cosy rooms at Hotel Winzer :-)

Interesting facts about the Alpine country

There is plenty to report from Austria. The country on the Danube is known as a paradise for hikers and cycling enthusiasts. This is because there are wonderful hiking and cycling trails running along the river. One of the best-known cycle routes is the Danube Cycle Path. Less well known is the fact that Austria is home to the lake with the warmest water in the Alps. Lake Klopein lies just before the border with Slovenia. The water temperature here can reach up to 29 degrees. Lake Wörth is somewhat better known...

As you can see, there is plenty to discover and explore in Austria – but we are always particularly delighted when you come to visit us :-)
