Place of Happiness: Father Salettl
2016/21/11
Fancy a panoramic view?
Surrounded by the colourful leaves of the trees, which are now turning a vibrant yellow, orange and red in autumn, with a small wooden cottage nearby and an incredible view of the turquoise-blue Attersee before your eyes. Sounds like a scene from a film? You’re wrong: our ‘place of happiness’ really does exist!
In Nußdorf am Attersee, on a small hill above the largest lake in the Salzkammergut, lies the Glücksplatz Pfarrer Salettl. A place amidst the most beautiful nature, offering panoramic views and tranquillity. Surrounded by rustling forests and the crisp air of the Attersee, the Glücksplatz encourages introspection and makes it easier to let go.
A place of relaxation...
Especially in these hectic times, we are increasingly looking for places to pause, find our centre and finally take care of ourselves again. We’ve all been there: the alarm goes off early in the morning, jolting us awake. Straight away, we rush to the bathroom to get ready for the working day. We quickly down a coffee standing up, then it’s straight out of the house and into the office. There we spend the whole day surrounded by all sorts of stress. There’s barely any time to catch our breath, or even to lower our stress levels for just a brief moment. Once the working day is over, many of us head to the stuffy gym to find at least a little balance to our stressful daily lives. After an hour’s workout, we head back home. A shower, dinner, and off to bed to be fit again for the next working day.
In these hectic and superficial times, we completely forget that we are surrounded by beautiful nature, which provides us with natural power spots full of energy. To make it easier for us to find these energy spots, there are the ‘Glücksplätze’ (Places of Happiness) at Lake Attersee. These are selected natural power spots which, thanks to their energetic properties and quality, help us to recharge our batteries, enjoy nature in complete tranquillity and switch off.
And this is how you find this ‘Glücksplatz’
The starting point on the way to Pfarrer Salettl is the centre of Nußdorf am Attersee. From here, follow the signs for the Wildholzweg. Along this path, you’ll find 12 stations that, as part of a wooden nature trail, have plenty of interesting facts to share. You’ll learn, for example, why the walnut tree became the symbol of Nussdorf, or what significance the former timber industry held for the region.
The final stop on the Wildholzweg is the Pfarrer Salettl. Here, you are rewarded with a peaceful yet magical view stretching far into the distance. The walk takes about an hour.
Once you’ve recharged your batteries, it’s back to the beautiful Attergau and the Hotel Winzer, where you can refuel at the afternoon buffet and, to round off the day, enjoy a wonderful massage or the various saunas and relaxation rooms in the hotel’s spa...
