Planning for a blissful wellness break

A wellness holiday works best when you take the right things with you. If you forget something, you can usually buy it or hire it for a fee – but it’s much more relaxing if you simply pack the right things. What you definitely don’t need to bring are bath towels and bathrobes! Every wellness hotel provides a set of these in every guest’s room and offers them free of charge as part of your booked stay. So that’s space saved in your suitcase. Hotel slippers are often made of terry cloth and tend to soak up water. If you’re sensitive to this, you should bring your own footwear. This also has the advantage of avoiding mix-ups with the identical-looking hotel slippers.

Don’t forget

We’ll assume items such as ID, money, toiletries and sufficient underwear are already on your packing list. Other important items to pack include swimwear, clothing for sports and excursions, evening wear, nightwear, a jacket, shoes, a hat or scarf in cooler seasons, and a change of clothes. Backpacks and bags are very useful if you’re spending a long time in the spa area and want to carry your essentials with you. Earplugs can really lift your spirits if you want some peace and quiet but the noise level or a snoring partner only allows this to a limited extent. A sleep mask works wonders for those sensitive to light when the lighting conditions are unsuitable for restful sleep. A good book, an e-reader or an MP3 player (don’t forget your headphones!) ensure undisturbed reading or listening pleasure.

Tips from Hotel Winzer

Hotel Winzer has decades of experience when it comes to wellness. Markus Winzer has shared his packing tips with us. Items often forgotten by guests include swimwear and, in summer, sun cream and sunglasses! Although sun cream is available at the hotel, it’s still a shame if the sun cream you’ve bought is left unused at home. To ensure your special holiday moments are captured for posterity, Markus Winzer recommends taking a camera or using your smartphone’s camera. If you use your smartphone, you can upload the photos to Facebook or Instagram and tag Hotel Winzer. We’d love that! As wellness is all about relaxation, however, you should keep smartphone use to a minimum. A sense of well-being works best when you leave everyday life at home and immerse yourself in wellness bliss without distractions. As a final tip for guests, he recommends booking massages and pampering extras before your holiday.

That way, your special requests are guaranteed. And then you should bring a little anticipation with you – that’s the quickest way to get into holiday mode!
