Mozart dumplings

Ingredients (serves 6):

Dough

  • 250g quark (40% fat)
  • A pinch of salt, vanilla
  • 1 egg
  • 80g wheat semolina
  • 80g plain flour
  • 60g softened butter
  • 12 Mozartkugeln

Breadcrumbs

  • 250g breadcrumbs
  • 150g caster sugar
  • 120g butter

Toast all the ingredients in a pan until golden brown

Method

  • Quickly mix all the ingredients except the butter into a smooth dough
  • Then briefly stir in the butter
  • Chill for approx. 2 hours
  • Divide into 12 equal portions
  • Work in the unwrapped Mozartkugeln and seal the dough well
  • Simmer gently in lightly salted water for approx. 6 minutes
  • Remove and roll in the prepared breadcrumbs

Serving suggestion

Icing sugar, fresh berries, caramel lattice, mint leaves
