Explore mountains, lakes and natural gems by bike

From Hotel Winzer to “e-bike bliss”

E-biking is fun! The electric tailwind takes you comfortably over hill and dale to the most beautiful spots. And you’ll still have plenty of energy left to enjoy the surroundings. Even on longer tours, you’ll always have enough power in the battery, as the Salzkammergut boasts a well-developed network of charging stations – four of them around Lake Attersee.

Your e-bike excursion can start right from the Hotel Winzer. That’s because high-quality KTM e-mountain bikes are available for you at the Hotel Winzer. This means you’re always perfectly equipped, whether on the road or off-road. On average, a battery lasts for a distance of 80 km. This means you can easily ‘cycle your way’ through our wonderful natural landscape right from the hotel door. In addition to attractive cycle tours through the Attergau, around the lakes and through the Salzkammergut, there is now also a dedicated BergeSeen eTrail in the Salzkammergut. We would like to introduce this to you here:

The BergeSeen eTrail

The Salzkammergut has so much to offer. By car, you can see a lot, but mostly just the well-trodden paths. With an e-bike, you can enjoy the natural wonders in a more immersive way without much effort. You can also reach places where cars are not allowed. The route takes you in ten stages across fields and meadows, past lakes and over mountain peaks to the most beautiful spots in the Salzkammergut. You can explore a total of 630 km by eMTB in this way. A dream!

Stage by stage to Mondsee

The tenth and final stage of the BergeSeen eTrail leads around Lake Attersee to Lake Mondsee. As it is the closest to us, we’d like to take a closer look at it here and describe a shorter version starting from the Hotel Winzer. From Hotel Winzer, the route covers 11.2 km through St. Georgen, Thern, Stöttham and Abstdorf to Altenberg on Lake Attersee and then on to Nußdorf. The point where you join the stage is between Nußdorf am Attersee and Dexelbach.

Here, leave the cycle path at the first opportunity towards the Panoramahotel Schönberger. Via Seepoint and Sichtenberg, follow the S800 signs along winding roads for 900 m uphill to Limbergstraße, where you turn left. After 1.4 km, turn right and, after the left-hand bend 400 m further on, turn right again; after 800 m on tarmac, you reach the Dachsteinblick. From the Dachsteinblick, the route continues through the forest along a forest track for around 8.8 km to Oberwang. After 2.6 km, turn left at Riedschwandt into one of Upper Austria’s largest forest areas and follow the forest road towards Kulmspitze and Radstatt. Below the Mondseeberg, you will emerge from the forest via Tiefgraben after around 8.5 km and follow the Mondseebergweg to Egg. There, turn left downhill towards Mondsee.

After 4.2 km downhill on tarmac, you will reach the final destination of this stage – Mondsee. The one-way distance, including the journey from Hotel Winzer, is approx. 37.4 km, and with the return journey, the total is 74.8 km. A lovely tour that should easily be covered on a single battery charge.
